		<description>I would second the overall weakness of his arguments.  I imagine part of it is that he didn&#039;t really want to do this; he would have preferred almost anyone to McCain.  I&#039;m just about ready to join Prof Kmiec and Bracevich myself.  I think what many on the right are underestimating is the extent to which we - if I can place myself in that illustrious company - want this war to end and one with Iran to be avoided.  Add to that a nominee McCain that doesn&#039;t play nice with others and could care less about the culture wars, and you have people willing to evaluate someone who has shown a modicum of competence in his life and is at least willing to hear your view and honestly reject it.  With Romney you had a very competent administrator who was willing to pay lip service to the social issues.  Obama isn&#039;t that big of a step away from that.  McCain is a self proclaimed maverick.</description>
