Politico and the wires are reporting that next Tuesday Jon Huntsman will announce he is running for president in New Jersey’s Liberty State Park, just across the Hudson from New York City. With sweeping made-for-TV views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, Huntsman’s people have taken a page from the 1980 Reagan campaign, which produced a Labor Day campaign speech in the same spot three decades ago.

No word yet on if Huntsman will go for the shirtsleeves, open-collar, cowboy look the Gipper pulled off during his harborside address.
