You are now officially my favorite blogger. Conservatism, religion, homeschooling, food, and now Lego. My life, in a nutshell. And now I’m off to investigate Minecraft for my slightly aspie 10 year old boy.

My Minecraft fanatic says that today the full version of Minecraft is FINALLY BEING RELEASED. I am given to understand that it is this is a huge, huge, huge deal.

Anyway, thanks, Karen, for your enthusiasm. Please tell your friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc., about this blog. The daily readership has doubled since I started it in early September, thanks in large part, I am confident, to the excellent discussions we usually have in the comments threads (for which, thanks, everybody).

For ye who like this blog, please consider subscribing to The American Conservative. I’m only part of our team, but you’ll find that TAC offers a fairly eclectic take on conservatism. If you’re looking for an alternative conservative take on politics, public affairs, and culture, we’re your magazine. We’re ramping up to relaunch this website in the new year. I’ve seen the redesign templates, and they’re pretty great. All this design improvement and our planned editorial expansions costs money. If you like us, please support us! You can also donate (tax-deductibly) to the not-for-profit foundation that supports us editorially.

BTW how do you find time to do it? – I’d suspect that you are running a Sullivan-style blogging factory if it wasn’t for the quality you maintain – even the posts I violently disagree with are always worth reading.

Thanks for this, Roger. I do it all myself. I’m energetic. I deeply love doing this. But I’ve got to slow down — I’m on here all the time, and I’m not giving myself enough time for new, in-depth reading. It can be frustrating when new readers want to engage in blog discussions, and want me to justify or to explain this or that position I’ve taken, which I’ve already done on many occasions. It’s not their fault; they haven’t read this for a while. I hate to leave people hanging, but I often have to decide whether or not to answer somebody’s questions and stay involved with a thread discussion, or move on to writing new posts. I usually opt for writing new posts, because I figure that serves the broader readership better.

Anybody ever want to drop me a line or a suggestion? rod.dreher (at) gmail.com. I do get a fair amount of mail, so if I don’t respond directly, please don’t be offended. No time!

By the way, as you know, all comments are moderated. I try to post them as quickly as I can, but if you experience a delay, it’s because I’ve had to be away from the keys for an extended period of time.

UPDATE: A reader e-mails:

Rod, I’ve read since NR, except for Big Think. Anyway, you do a good job. But, it’s too much, and with your pace it’s not possible to digest, which I really wanted to do with Haidt for example. Yet there goes my Reader, clogged again. Please limit yourself…..less really is more when you already read online a lot.

That’s an interesting point. What do the rest of you think? I’ve assumed that most of you read this blog by going to the webpage, in which case you could easily handle a rapid, Sully-style pace of blogging, and might in fact want it. But if you’re reading only via an RSS feed, I can easily see how it clogs up your reader. Would you all prefer fewer posts?
