If you’re a fan of The Little Way Of Ruthie Leming and would like a frame-able print of Alice Tait’s terrific map from the endpapers, you may buy them exclusively from Grandmother’s Buttons, a St. Francisville shop. Half the proceeds from map sales go into the Ruthie Leming Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded to the graduating West Feliciana High senior who most exhibits Ruthie’s kindness, generosity, and devotion to community.

We had a great turnout in SF last weekend for the signing. Here’s an account of the event from the GB blog, with beautiful photography by Anna Addison. I love the shots of my mom and me, and the one of my wife Julie, daughter Nora, and me. Thanks so much to Susan Davis and the crew at GB for a wonderful launch for Little Way. And thanks too to Amazon.com reader Chris Fabry, who writes:

I knew Rod Dreher was a good writer and could take me to places of the heart, but I wasn’t expecting the vulnerability and exposure I found here. A soul laid bare. I knew the story of Ruthie would be a hard ride, but this is not about the death of a little sister with a good heart–it is, but it’s more about awakening. And about a billion other things that will make you laugh and cry. This took courage to write, and standing up against a thousand fears. I’m so glad Rod opened his soul and, “Here it is. This is the ugly, beautiful truth.” This is a rich story that keeps giving, just like Ruthie.
