Here is a picture of the Easter Sunday dinner I had with my ten-year-old daughter at the New Inn, a 16th century coaching inn in Cerne Abbas, Dorset, England. On the left is fish cakes with peas and chips; on the right is glazed “Cracknell” duck breast with carmelized chicory. We went to Easter Sunday Mass at the Roman Catholic Church of Sacred Heart and St. Aldhelm in Sherborne, and spent the rest of the day at Mapperton House and Gardens. All told, a perfect mother-daughter Easter.
