What self-respecting Texan chooses this In-N-Out outfit over Whataburger? It’s treason I tell ya! Treason!

What is the big deal with IAO? IMHO they are fair to middling. … Good fries though.

When I still ate meat, In-and-Out was among my favorite fast food burgers.
Culver’s is still the king, though. A fine Wisconsin company.

Never been an In-N-Out Burger. I tend to prefer Five Guys, as well as a local outfit in my hometown of Akron, Ohio, called Hamburger Station. They both serve malt vinegar for the fries. My home town also has a local chain called Swenson’s, which has a great burger called the Galley Boy. I think their secret is putting brown sugar in the ground beef.
Of course, every other burger place pales before the magnificence that is White Castle.

It’s the comination of generally ok food with a more-than-great price, I think.
Here in WA, we have a Starbucks on every corner. But no In-N-Out or Chick-Fil-A. boo

Breakfasts like that every day cause heart attacks, unless perhaps one does seriously physical work all day and gets real exercise.

Speaking of culture wars over food, InNOut is both the unofficial burger of liberal California (even the author of Fast Food Nation praised their food and management) *and* a company owned by devout Christian family that sneaks Bible verses onto the soda cups.
Some day they’ll let loose with their own personal opinions on gay marriage, and boy, you’ll hear the shrieks of pain from the Left Coast all the way out in Louisiana.
