The reader says the corn came from his neighbor’s garden.
This is the 50th VFYT, by the way. These last few VFYTs are a perfect example of what this feature should be: putting food in a context. It doesn’t have to be a grand context (we can’t always eat in visually stunning locales), but ideally, the images should give us some information — landscape, social, aesthetic — beyond what’s being eaten.
I started doing this for something fun and light, but it’s turned out that some days these VFYTs are my favorite posts of all.
