Enjoying the simplicity of a French picnic of Norman Livarot cheese, DuPont Reserve Cidre and local pastries. In the background is Our Lady of Hambye Abbey located between Le Mont St. Michel and St. Lo. The Benedictine Abbey was established around 1145 by Guillaume Painel.

Ah, to be in France this summer. And look at the views from the readers’ bench outside of the Chartres cathedral. It’s something out of Dante’s Paradiso:

UPDATE: Same readers, same trip. Huitrerie Régis was closed, so they toodled down the Boulevard Saint-Germain looking for a substitute. This, my dears, is Paris, and I so want to go to there:
