Don’t worry. We can handle two of them on the weekend!

What an absolutely beautiful spread.

Chinese home cooking is so different from Chinese restaurant food in the West. The sender of this picture is my daughter who went to a Dragon Boat celebration at the home of some relations of ours in Hangzhou (not Huangzhou).

Quelle table somptueuse. I may have to rethink my attitude to Chinese cuisine. I worked with a guy who was married to a Chinese woman and he never ate in Chinese restaurants. His mother-in-law never trusted them! My sentiments as well. But home-cooked chez un ami I would indulge.
To calibrate the above, I would never eat frog legs (cuisses de grenouille). Ni grenouilles ni chiens ni chats. Pouah!

Fascinating. I don’t even know what all that is, but it makes me hungry. It brings to my mind the book “What the World Eats” http://www.amazon.com/What-World-Eats-Faith-DAluisio/dp/1582462461, which I so enjoyed looking at–my children liked it too. It inspired me to pay more attention to variety.
