This is the traditional Armenian Christmas Pudding, or Anooshaboor, at a table in Queens, NY. The pudding is made of shelled wheat, apricots, raisins, pine nuts, sugar, and rose water, garnished with cinnamon and blanched almonds. It’s eaten from New Year’s to Christmas, which, for us, is January 6. Note that it’s fasting food – no animal products—to keep with the pre-Christmas fast.
