After all your talk about boulevard brewing company, I had been keeping an eye out for it. Tonight, my wife and I had dinner with a couple of friends at the Brick Store Pub in Decatur, GA. They have a fantastic beer selection, and a variety of traditional bar and pub fare to eat. This is the meatloaf sandwich. It was good, but not the best meatloaf sandwich I’ve had. I chose poorly on the side. My friend got the arugula salad, which has strawberries and goat cheese on it. It looked better than these chips. The beer is Boulevard’s Tank 7, a saison. It was very light and spicy, a lot going on in what looks at first like a very average beer. But it had very complex flavors. Definitely for slow sipping and savoring. I also had Sierra Nevada’s Hoptimum, which is basically a triple IPA, even happier than their Torpedo. It was fantastic. Very west coast IPA, citrusy, sweet, the high bitterness matched by the citrus notes.

He adds:

The beer on the right in the pic is the Boulevard, on the left is Dogfish Head’s Festina Peche, a light ale with peach.
