Our table yesterday: lamb and mint pie, beef and ale pie, chicken pot pie, baked ham (peeking out from behind the crudites and pesto dip), sauteed green beans, Brussels sprouts in bacon and onions, rice dressing with tasso, French carrot salad, biscuits, Dijon mustard and, holding down the end of the table, reader James C.’s applesauce bread, incarnated as muffins. There was rum punch and prosecco and all kinds of other things to drink too. And, praise the Lord, this morning there is Advil.

Is that Julie’s new bowl on the table with the plaid napkin?

Thought since opening a ROCOR mission that you had gone to the old calendar, Benedicte.
[Note from Rod: The mission isn't officially open yet -- our first liturgy will be next month -- but in my house, at least, we will continue to observe Christmas culturally on December 25, with my broader, non-Orthodox family. The religious observance of the Nativity will be for us on January 7. -- RD]

Um, some of us still think you need to share the lamb and mint pie recipe. Mentioning this dish repeatedly without posting directions is, well, just a bit cruel.
