Says the reader:
This beer hall is home to a German men’s and women’s choir. German beer, on tap, for cheap. They also have a beer garden and do events like Oktoberfest and German classes. Open to people of German speaking ancestry out just with an interest. This being a military town, lot of folks are involved because they were stationed there. This being a Hispanic heavy town, the dirndl and lederhosen wearers are a touch browner than usual. But Germany is as much part of San Antonio’s history as Chicanos. It’s a fun mix.

See whether you can find Innstadt Stadl-Bier at Monoprix or somewhere else in Paris. It’s wonderful, quite malty and has a hint of a fruity aftertaste.
I bought a pint at the supermarket here in Omaha the other night, and it’s just amazing stuff.
The Innstadt Brauerei has been in business since 1318 — imagine! — and this is their version of an Oktoberfest beer. In Bavaria outside of Munich, Oktoberfest is known as Dult, and this beer is named for the hall where it’s held every year.
Truly, I could drink this stuff to the point of unconsciousness. Well, Louisiana boy that I am, I could drink a lot of good beers to the point of unconsciousness, but you know what I mean. Very, very refreshing stuff.
