From Geoffrey’s in Malibu. Sautéed Day Boat Sea Scallops with Hudson Valley foie gras risotto and a drizzle of star anise infused pomegranate reduction. Really, really ridiculously good. Wow.
I’m sorry, did he say foie gras risotto?! There are no words. Foodie readers on the Left Coast will note that this meal was served before the California foie gras ban. I learned over the weekend that this photo, taken this summer, must have gotten caught in my spam filter or something. I asked the reader to resend.

I’ve only seen a couple of installments in this series, and they’re beautiful, but I have such mixed feelings.
The pictures tend to be from the top 50 percent of society; of course, that’s probably who reads this…
Are we going to see some picture of spam, velveeta and wonder bread??
I would expect TAC to take more of an interest in the much-mocked and -put upon white lower / middle classes of America, who are so completely ignored and / or disdained by the establishment left and right media.
Wonder bread is not going to be found in the NY Times dining section, which is why I look for it here.

[Note from Rod: If somebody sends me a good photo of Spam, Velveeta, and Wonder Bread, then I'll publish it. I post what readers send me. I don't believe in affirmative action for food. -- RD]
