   Helen,

   Yeah – you’re right about that. But I think that’s changing. Slowly. There are many professional “minorities” who want to keep a bigger share of what they earn and not have it confiscated by pimps for an “entitled” underclass. This demographic cuts across all racial and ethnic lines, in my experience.

   And, thanks for the compliment but, yes, at times I can be very dim. Twenty five watts max. Not enough to read by.

   I was listening to this excruciating meandering on the radio in the car and just praying for the sweet release a head-on collision would provide.

   Reading all the comments regarding Clint Eastwood’s speech last night I must say I am shocked… not with Eastwood, who was just telling it like it is, but those making the negative comments. I guess you people can’t switch to a Socialist government fast enough. Maybe you’re just not bright enough to realize that Roger Ebert was brainwashed in the same schools you attended. Last I heard this man is a movie critic, not a politician. However, if the truth be told… its Ebert’s job to contradict ‘anything’ the government wants destroyed… like the movie “For Greater Glory.” This dumb bunny’s negative review was based soley on the fact the Cristeros were fighting the Mexican government’s planned shut down of the Catholic Church, instead of defending ‘all of the religious affiliations’. Ebert apparently isn’t aware… there were no other religious affiliations to mention at the time. Mexico was a Catholic nation. For years government diplomats ‘from around the world’ sent their kids to the US so their kids could have freedom of Religion in their upbringing. My roommate was the daughter of the Barbara Striesand of Mexico. Now, you can base the pettiness of Ebert’s review just on his stupidity, his sloppiness in doing his research, or on ‘what his job really is’. The job of the rest of the media is the same. Now, think for yourselves… otherwise you have no one else to blame when you find yourselves having to literally fight for your rights… like the Cristeros.

   the chair thing was weird for me – but the really weird thing about the speech was that Eastwood complained about Pres Obama’s policies – some of which are – ya know – things Romney would do too. So I wasn’t that sure if he was actually supporting Romney.

   I thought it was the most entertaining speech of the night. I get tired of the B.S. from professional politicians. Eastwood said pretty much what I hear on the street. Whether Romney can deliver on all that is questionable, but that wouldn’t be Eastwood’s fault.

   Not that I necessarily agree with Eastwood or Romney on all points, but I’d rather listen to an hour of Eastwood talking to that empty chair than to a 6 minute speech by any of the other people they put on stage at the convention.

   As strange as Clint Eastwood’s speech was, it is stranger still that the President of the United States saw fit to issue a rejoinder. Perhaps if Louisiana thought of that sight gag with the chair, the full emergency declaration would have come sooner.

   No, it is decidedly not a win that President Obama can only be roused from his rounds of golf, one-percenter fundraisers and cultic political rallies when an 82-old-man gets snarky about him. It is pathetic. That chair that he posted on Twitter is the most presidential thing about that man now. Which is a shame because in 2008 I would not have believed him to be the small, petty man he has since revealed himself to be.

    Kate, you can’t see it, can you? Just like Clint Eastwood, you’re talking to an imaginary Obama.

    What has he done to make our’s a socialist government? Save the (private) auto industry? Broaden access to healthcare by giving the (private) health insurance industry more customers? Or maybe it’s his insistence to return to more sensible tax rates like we had under those commies Bill Clinton, George HW Bush and Ronald Reagan?
