Well, I can’t really comment on the Romney speech. Our power went down again during the thing, and only came back on about 20 minutes ago. But I did see the bizarre Clint Eastwood oration to and about the empty chair, and I thought I was watching Grampa Simpson impersonating a Ringwraith.
Clint Eastwood is not only an accomplished artist, he’s also cool. But man, that was embarrassing for all concerned, not only for a doddering old white man, but for the entire Republican Party. Not that it much matters, but the conservative Celebrity Auxiliary is exceedingly lame. It feels like they deploy U2, and we deploy Stryper. Anyway, Obama wins the Internet with this tweeted response:

Helen,
Yeah – you’re right about that. But I think that’s changing. Slowly. There are many professional “minorities” who want to keep a bigger share of what they earn and not have it confiscated by pimps for an “entitled” underclass. This demographic cuts across all racial and ethnic lines, in my experience.
And, thanks for the compliment but, yes, at times I can be very dim. Twenty five watts max. Not enough to read by.
