So, as I’ve said, I’ve been immiserated and sidelined by what I’m pretty sure is a sinus infection. After 10 days, I’m finally going to the doctor this afternoon. Wife just left for pediatrician, towing two of our kids, who have been sick with the same stuff for as long as I have. Here is a video clip showing me this week. The only benefit of this malady is it got me out of having to go on a long-planned field trip to Colonial Williamsburg (which I would have loved, I bet) and three days with a bunch of kids in the nearby Great Wolf Lodge (which, kill me now). I was too sick to go, and so were the two snot-encased children. So we sat at home and coughed and blew our noses and whined while Julie and Lucas were off with the homeschooling crew.

They got home last night, after a five-hour drive I asked Mrs. Dreher, “So, how was the Great Wolf Lodge?”

“I’ve got two words for you: ‘Animatronic [deleted] Trees.'”

“That’s three words.”

“Well, I needed that extra one for emphasis.”

Did I mention to you that she’s a massive fan of the hilarious Stark Raving Mad Mommy blog? If you read nothing else from the SRMM, be sure to see her Open Letter to Dora the Explorer.
