How that alligator turned out

So, this is how the alligator I wrote about yesterday ended up tonight: stuffed with dirty rice, smoked, then his flesh picked and put into a sauce piquante. Above, Runmore, my neighbor and the chef. He’s from Alabama. He’s lived in Louisiana for almost a year, and this is his first sauce piquante. I’d say he’s gone native.

While Mr. Mono is home crashing and heading for bed, Julie, Runmore, and Mme. Runmore are across the street eating alligator, drinking rum, and watching the Oscars. And what are you eating at your Oscars party?
