Hello, haters! As you read this, I will be at the Natchez Food & Wine Festival, along with fellow gastronomes, metrosexuals, homosexuals, and men whose wives busted their goolies, enjoying eats and drinks while the rest of you are at home watching the London Olympics opening ceremony. About which I give not a fig. Your mileage may vary.

So, look: here’s an open thread below for hating on the Olympics. Or hating on Olympics-haters. I can’t hate on the Winter Olympics, because the 1980 US hockey team upset of the Soviets is one of the finest and most exalted moments in contemporary American history. Besides which, you know, the great Mike Eruzione.

But the summer games? You can have ’em. I’m at my humiliatingly foo-foo party as you read this; the thread is yours. I’ll post all the comments when I’m back in my hotel room.
