That was the view out of the kitchen window of my friend’s apartment in Naarden Vesting, a fortified village in suburban Amsterdam. It’s quite charming. The only view I could imagine that’s more Dutch than this is a shot from a bridge over an Amsterdam canal. I’ll be able to do that next week. Tonight I’m in Noord-Brabant, near the Belgian border. I can almost smell the lambic from here.
