Where were we? Yes, I was trying to say that it’s time to bring out the Christmas music. I was going through my discs the other day, and I have to say that it’s not very inspiring. I have some great stuff in our stash, but it’s a little … tired by now.

I never get tired of Diana Krall’s Christmas album, which is my all-time favorite, and the Roches’ Christmas album is always a favorite. I have some sort of “Jingle Bell Jazz” compilation that’s actually great, and I don’t care what you say, Vince Guaraldi’s “Charlie Brown Christmas” is always and forever sacred in my house. Last year we bought an Emmylou Harris Christmas album that’s really special, except for the opening cut, which sounds like the hayseediest hoedown ever.

Beyond this, however? We need a little fresh Christmas music, right this very minute. Well, not quite this very minute; I have just been told there shall be neither fa nor la in this house until December 1. So there is time. Anyway, what would you suggest?
