THESE ARE ALL INTERNAL ISSUES AND THESE ARE ALL ISSUES THAT THE EUROPEANS WILL NOT FACE AS LONG AS EUROPE CONTINUES ITS COLD WAR EDIFACE AND FACADE. AS I SAY BEFORE, THE REAL THREATS TO US INTERESTS ARE INCREASINGLY THE MIDDLE EAST, CENTRAL ASIA SURROUNDING INDA AND SOUTHEAST ASIA WITH PUTS PREMIUMS ON AFRICA, INDIA, PHILIPPINES AND OUR PACIFIC TERRORITORIES. Unification of North and South Korea would put the united Koreas on a 50 year growth rate and place enough economic and military balance for Japan and Korea to contain China with modest US backup. This is as it should be. Japan and Korea can be seen as ALLIES but they cannot be seen as proxy colonies (which is how China views North Korea as a proxy colony). The United States high risk areas are in Central Asia and Southeast Asia and the Middle East. A negotiated withdrawl to the pacific islands and allowing Japan and Korea to develop bullwarks against China is the best way to maintain our East Asian alliance. SADLY KOREAN UNIFICATION IS NEVER DISCUSSED AND IT REALLY IS THE ONLY STRATEGY FOR US WITHDRAWL WITHOUT A VACUUM THAT LEAVES KOREA AND JAPAN INFERIOR AND SUBSERVIENT TO CHINA.
