Losing White America
On Monday, the Department of Agriculture demanded the resignation of Shirley Sherrod over a two-minute videotape where she appeared to describe to a cheering crowd of the Georgia NAACP how she denied assistance to a poor white farmer about to lose his land.
Declaring itself “appalled” at this “shameful” act of racism, the NAACP said it would investigate the Georgia crowd that cheered her and praised the Department of Agriculture for firing her.
On Wednesday, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was begging for Sherrod’s forgiveness, and the NAACP was burbling apologies.
For the video turned out to be an excerpt from a speech in which Sherrod described her growth from a bitter black woman whose father was murdered by a white man into one who found joy helping poor white folks keep their farms.
What was it that caused the rush to judgment by Vilsack, the NAACP and a White House that supported the ouster of Sherrod without talking to her or viewing the full tape?
Panic. The White House fears it is losing white America because of a false perception that it harbors a bias against white America.
Outrageous, rail those journalists who celebrated the NAACP’s accusation that the tea party is harboring racists and is too cowardly to confront them.
Yet, as things perceived as real are real in their consequences, if the White House does not eradicate this perception, its lease may not be renewed. Whence comes that perception?
Several incidents.
First was the startling accusation by Attorney General Eric Holder, days after Barack Obama was inaugurated in a gusher of good feeling, that we are all “a nation of cowards” when it comes to facing issues of race.
A real icebreaker for a national conversation.
Second was the instantaneous verdict of the president, when asked about the arrest of Harvard’s Henry Louis Gates by Cambridge cop Sgt. James Crowley. With no knowledge of what happened, Obama blurted out that the cops had “acted stupidly.”
It took a White House beer summit to detoxify that one.
A third was the revelation that Obama’s first Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, the “wise Latina” herself, had gone to extremes to see that the case of Frank Ricci and the New Haven, Conn., firefighters never got to the Supreme Court. Ricci and co-defendants had been denied promotions they had won in competitive exams solely because they were white and no black firemen had done as well.
The fourth was the Justice Department’s dropping of charges against members of the New Black Panther Party, whose intimidation of voters in Philadelphia had been captured on tape.
When a department official resigned in protest and went to the Civil Rights Commission to accuse officials at Justice of ordering staff attorneys not to pursue such cases, that explosive charge, too, was ignored by Justice.
Came then the NAACP smear that the tea party was harboring racists, which Joe Biden explicitly rejected on national television on Sunday, before the Monday firestorm over Sherrod.
Now, whatever one’s views on each of these episodes in which race played a role, white Americans are being forced to address them. And, surely, the White House understands this is bad news for Obama and the Democratic Party.
For though the black community remains solidly behind Obama and the white majority is shrinking toward minority status by 2042 or 2050, depending on which Census survey one uses, whites in America still outnumber blacks five to one. And if forced constantly to come down on one side or the other of a racial divide, most folks will wind up with their own.
In past elections, Democrats have raised race — allegations that black churches were being torched in the South, that George W. Bush’s opposition to a hate crimes bill meant he was coldly indifferent to the dragging death of a handicapped black man — to solidify and energize the minority vote. And, today, that vote remains solid behind Obama,
Where the erosion is taking place is in white America, among working- and middle-class folks who voted for Hillary Clinton in the primaries but took a chance with Obama in the fall. Now, every time some new incident erupts, these folks are being tarred.
Opposition to affirmative action is racist. Supporting the tea party gives aid and comfort to racists. Opposing health care puts you in league with folks who used racial slurs on Rep. John Lewis. To raise the issue of the New Black Panther Party is to play the race card.
One understand the bitterness of tea party folks who carry signs that read: “What difference does it make what this placard says. You’ll call it racist anyway.”
As the National Journal’s Ron Brownstein has been reporting, white America is increasingly alienated and distrustful of all our major economic and political power centers — the banks, big corporations, the government.
And, for the first time in our lifetimes, outside the South, white racial consciousness has visibly begun to rise.

Gosh, if only Breibart hadn’t posted that video. Don’t be so sure that all whites will side with the whites in the Tea Party. I did watch Rachel Maddow last night and what she had to say is true; it benefits the Republican party to put the sort of ideas out that you are espousing in your blog. The President needs to get tougher and he needs not to worry what Glenn Beck, or you, or Breitbart says. After all, if he is to be a one term president he needs to make it count for something other than accomplishing more in his first 18 months than Bush did in his 8 years.
The cops did act stupidly arresting an elderly man in his own house when he smartmouthed them a bit. Big deal. His house and they had no warrant. I’d have told them to scram.Hauling some old black guy who as it turns out rides a tricycle to work seems ludicrous. However the US is a big country and well lots of stuff happens ina big country so no biggie. Try not to obssess about minor BS.
how about: fixing the health system
Getting both fegeral and states budgets and service provision under control
determining what our real Security neeeds are and cutting some of the surplus out so we don’t have to fire teachers and the like.
Determing the scale of regulation desired so we don’t all end up in another disaster like we have financially, and with others sectors such as coal mines oil wells and the like.
Immigration reform and implementation.
Anyone heard of global warming lately?
8 years of Bush and no progress on anything.
We’ve real issues. So whats the Conservative answer? Absolute silence… if the Dems lose the house what’ll we achieve with the new seats? More of the same but with a white face? Saying no is not leadership. This bums had his shot. What do we want to do? (back to Bushian policy obviously is not the answer)
Put some ideas down guys. Be the first Conservative policy initiatives released in years.
Enough of the obssessing on tea partiers being called racists. Big deal they should grow up. Enough of them either are or have tolerated it. I’ve been very unimpressed.Shouting people down is not an arguement its just damn rude.Don’t be sucked into the fox agenda. They play you guys loke a violin and laugh alll the way to the bank with Becks goldline chq.
Like you said, I’m a racist so what does it matter?
You left out a couple minor points.
Obama went to school in Hawaii, during a time they still tolerated openly the “kill a haole (white person)” day in public schools.
Obama sat for “20 years” in a black liberation church. Black Liberation Theology says Christ is a victim, and redemption is only through renouncing identification with “the master race” and become subserviant to the “ex-slaves” as reparation for the advantages one received earlier in life. They have a constant undercurrent of “anti-establishment-white” and “anti-evil-imperialist-US”. He, his wife, and his children had a “steady diet” of this for “20 years”.
Obama has a background of hanging out with reparationists, both black and white, and has surrounded himself with those in the White House. There is a constant theme of the need to move America’s “excess wealth” to the poor, both here and abroad.
Even without (and before) the current administration, there has been a provable and measurable bias heavily against “white males” in federal agencies and institutions, over the last 25 years.
But I urge people to review what John Stossel said, “It is NOT whether YOU perceive me racist. It is only important that I can demonstrate that I am trying harder than you to be colorblind.” (This last IS, of course, Obama’s way out of the racist trap, if he chooses.)
An open letter to Rahm Emanuel:
Boy, you got a huge crisis. Let’s not let it go to waste.
I am an old white guy, from rural Oklahoma, your political enemy as a lifelong Republican, and here’s the speech I’d like MY President to give:
=============================================
I, Barack Hussein Obama, am the son of a white woman, and a Kenyan man who was 1/4 black. In the neighborhoods where I grew up, we call me a “black guy”.
And now, I am the President of the Unites States of America, the finest and most noble country in the world. To the rest of the world, I would say that our greatness comes NOT from our financial or military power, nor from our scientific or manufacturing power, nor from our intellectual or religious “prowess”, nor from our racial makeup or tolerance. But rather, each of these derives from the proven greatness of the ideas that founded our nation, and bind us together as a people.
To my fellow citizens, I would take this opportunity to assure you, that I am the President of ALL citizens, and All political factions, All races and cultures that work together to make this the greatest country history has seen. And, let me assure you that as we work to make this a better country, to regain full employment and financial stability, as we work to make this a better and more accessable Presidency, that as I you ask for sacrifice, this will NOT prevent you in any way acting in your own interests, both now and as I ask you to re-hire me in 2012.
I come from a community where many individuals feel they have legitimate claims for compensation, because of mistreatment of their ancestors. There are MANY such factions in the United States, from ethnic minorities black and non-black, to even families of soldiers, whose breadwinner died watching his or her guts and their lifeblood spill through their fingers in defense of our country, only to have their family face financial disadvantage that will last for generations.
There are rumors that many Federal institutions and agencies have told whites and asians, “Sorry, we’re giving preference to minorities today.”
To all Americans, I promise that I have not come to aid those presenting legitimate demands, nor to discourage those. For many, reparations will simply amount to being able to live in the United States, with the finest opportunities in the world, available to ALL Equally. To others who wish to present legitimate demands, my Presidency is not here to champion your cause, nor to work against it. Let the White family who has spent a lifetime preparing to finance a college child, a black family sending a child for an education, an Asian or Native American, or an Hispanic, ALL peoples; let each of these be proud to be Americans and feel that they have an equal opportunity to be educated and engage in business and raise families, and pursue happiness.
We have engaged in major restructuring of the Governmental infrastructure, and through this begun to spur an economic recovery. For those who see private sector jobs lacking, and wish us to refocus on the engine of American manufacturing, we promise this WILL be done, now.
For those who feel the Federal Government is trying to “own” certain functions, such as law and border enforcement, and prevent local agencies from participating or acting in their own self-interest, we recognize that not only does the consitiution NOT allow this, but our presidency is dedicated to EMPOWERING local communities. Our actions to streamline law enforcement at a federal level is being perceived as encroaching on local authorities, and many are asking us to be in better communication with local authorities. Improvement in that begins now.
We have been urged to go slowly in making “what works”, such as oil and coal power, obsolete, and to not backrupt our country supporting global notions of “helping the poor” or “helping the environment”. A rededication to putting the engines of growth as our first priority, here in America begins now, while continuing to advance the United States as a world leader in the protection of the world’s environment and stewardship for all of earth’s natural and biological diversity, within our reasonable financial realities.
Where we have said, “Don’t listen to a certain News Channel or a certain Opinion Commentator”, we should have said, “Don’t give undue weight to what we feel might be distortions or incomplete information.” Some have urged us to better communication and openness to those news agencies with a proven desire to communicate between the Federal Government and their interest-groups and audiences. That better communication to ALL news organizations and bloggers who promise themselves to responsible journalism and communication, starts now.
YOU and your interest-groups can help us to improve the Presidency for ALL Americans, without sacrificing your self-interest, now or during future elections, by recognizing that this is a Presidency for ALL Americans. By this, I mean that you must let your advocacy be respectful of the feelings and opinions of others. This Presidency will be doing the same, EVEN NOW.
Thank you.
You wrote “In past elections, Democrats have raised race — allegations that black churches were being torched in the South, that George W. Bush’s opposition to a hate crimes bill meant he was coldly indifferent to the dragging death of a handicapped black man — to solidify and energize the minority vote. And, today, that vote remains solid behind Obama,” I’m surprised at such a patronizing tone, sir. Do you think it unimaginable that southern blacks would choose to vote for a different president than a man under whom these incidents occured without him taking action? What causes you to think they would need democrats telling them what was going on? Surely you are not suggesting they are too dumb to see what was so plainly visible to everyone else? You are suggesting that, aren’t you? Oh, my dear. Oh Pat, would you please get over your conviction that every family gathering requires the presence of the batty old uncle clinging to his rediculous predjudices?
I think it’s clear that Buchanan’s right that Obama greatly fears being seen as a race warrior, and that to a significant degree “for the first time in our lifetimes, outside the South, white racial consciousness has visibly begun to rise.”
But … I wonder about how this should be taken.
Clearly some folks on the Right like it, and that’s somewhat understandable given that since the ’60′s the Left has just played the race card mercilessly, and has milked what seemed every drop of electoral advantage possible out of hyping racial divisions.
However, isn’t Obama’s tenure so far at least meaningful? That is, here we have our first “Black” president, whose background at least suggests that his governance would be simply shot-through with racial overtones. And yet what’s been the reality? With what I would say are pretty minor exceptions, the man has clearly striven *not* do or say things so as to implicate race at all. And here he is again “panicked” at the idea that some very lower-down bureaucrat under him was practicing racial discrimination.
So … isn’t this a damned *good* thing? I know of course that it might just be that Obama is just shamming about all this. And the recent business with the Civil Rights Dept. at Justice might even be traced to him or his close circle. Or, at any time he might turn, especially after the next election for him or when he’s out of office.
But, still, why shouldn’t the manner in which he *has* behaved so far be celebrated, and indeed used as a cudgel against those of Obama’s own party and constituency to show they are behind the times, and are just being divisive?
Moreover, does it really aid conservative causes to just totally write-off any hope of ever attracting Black votes? Can also seem to me that with the vast majority of issues out there if anything conservative or libertarian causes can resonate very very well with African-Americans. As to economics, for instance, who gets hurt and laid off first when same is mishandled? It ain’t the rich, that’s for sure. As to immigration, who gets hurt first by throwing open the borders so as to take advantage of people who will work for nothing? And as to foreign policy even, look at the number of African-Americans in the armed forces, so who gets hurt especially hard when we send our troops willy-nilly into wars?
Besides this, as opposed to what Obama’s done, what right now would have been the result if the kind of “white racial consciousness” that Pat’s talking about had carried the day in the last election? A Bush clone, that’s what. Very possibly war with Iran, no question about pulling out of Iraq or Afghanistan, a continuation of these obscene bailouts of banks and etc. even worse than Obama’s, very possibly a Republican-led push for immigration amnesty….
True, there wouldn’t be this health-care deal we have now, but is that alone enough to say we’d have been better off with any of the likely Bush successors that were out there? Better off with McCain?
Seems to me it’s a complex situation, calling for anything but reflexive and tragically short-term partisan thinking. May even be a historic situation that could go a long way to heal or get past our racial rifts and divisions so meaning now would be a particularly tragic time to try inflaming or playing on them.
The mainstream right might get the vital task of opposing Obama wrong in the same way they got the Cold War wrong.
The fact is, the policies that Obama advocates will not work. Making health-care mandatory, as Obama has, is a bad idea. It will enrich the health insurance companies, hurt working Americans and small businessmen, and make people angry. Racial identity politics are unnecessary, because people can tell when their own situations are getting worse, and they vote accordingly.
The Soviet Union didn’t collapse because conservatives “stood up” to it, it collapsed because normal Russians got sick of staying poor while Party functionaries got rich. It wasn’t our sabre-rattling or patriotism that did them in, it was the weakness of their own system. Similarly, making opposition to Obama about race will alienate middle and upper-class blacks, and solidify the opposition of those whites who are so insulated from actual hardship that they have the luxury of pursuing the ephemeral “moral high ground” that appearing anti-racist provides. Those two groups tip the balance and make a conservative resurgence impossible.
3 out of 5 of the judges’ panel said they saw nothing wrong with this…

Buchanan would benefit if he took a look across the Atlantic at David Cameron and the Tories. Rather than waste time on the politics of resentment, which has been Buchanan’s bread & butter for 30 years, Cameron is actually carrying through real conservative policies – deep budget cuts, tax hikes to discourage wasteful economic activity, investigating torture claims, and encouraging marriage by allowing gays to wed.
Isn’t it fun, that when two college kids take a camera into an ACORN office to do an expose, a bunch of local DAs jump out of the woodwork to prosecute the journalists doing their expose, for invading the “rights” of the ACORN office?
But what about ACORN? What do THEY do for a living?
Observe, your tax dollars at work:

Having been a victim of “reverse discrimination,” I have seen first hand what the diversity crowd is doing to our culture. Merit no longer matters, just quotas. Ironically, the most open and tolerant nation in the history of mankind seems to be balkanizing and tearing itself apart. Do we credit political correctness or government? Probably a combination of the two….
I love the terms racist, bigot, mysogenist, antisemite.
Because its so hypocritical and filled with prejudice in race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
A jew who is 1% of the population can be proud of their religion but a christian (orthodox, protestant, catholic, mormon, etc) which is over 50% must be silent and invisable
An african american, asian and hispanic can be proud of their religion but a caucasian must be silent and invisable
A female can be proud of their gender but a male must be passive and silent
All government approved minorities get special privileges while all non-approved minorities get neglected. Its government sanctioned reverse prejudice. Its government instituted prejudice!
its government instituted insanity
then in a final legislation of insanity there is open border immigration so that all those who are new immigrants (legal and illegal) are elevated above native poor and disenfranchised.
Basically its deconstructing the people and traditions of the people that built our nation…and the native europeans, western culture and civilization, etc…but its not just the US but all western nations (Canada, Western Europe, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc).
Sideshows always sideshows. Frankly it is a pity Obama is black as if he wasn’t maybe you guys would focus on something important. fankly that goes for the whole conservative movement. Where are the ideas? If repubs get back in what do they propose? Tell us I have afeeling that just being white christian anti tax etc may not be enough. After all that was what we had when we got in all ths shit.
The least racist member of the Federal Government, Rep. Ron Paul, M.D., nails the issue of race in America with this simple statement of common sense and a true understanding of our Constitution:
“Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans only as members of groups and never as individuals. Racists believe that all individual who share superficial physical characteristics are alike; as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called “diversity” actually perpetuate racism. Their intense focus on race is inherently racist, because it views individuals only as members of racial groups.”
“After all that was what we had when we got in all ths…”
This is too advanced for libs – stop reading now.
CONGRESS controls the budget process.
Look at the first 6 years of Bush’s term – stupid spending, no veto pen, but unemployment and financial stability acceptable.
2006 – Dems voted in to both houses of congress.
2007 – Dems in control of Congress, still operating off Repub’s budget, but formulating 2008 budget, AND in charge of oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac.
2008 – To rig “October Suprise” for McCain, Corn jerked from market, and Oil manipulated to sky-high prices. October suprise buries McCain’s chances, but ignites FARMER DEFAULTS (these budget for following year in October – unintended consequence, and they need corn for feed, and oil for fertilizer and transportation and running equipment – their budgeting caused them to call banks and begin making arrangements to default, in Dec 2008)
TARP was born. They displayed the 10-MONTH LIBOR and told scare stories about the world collapsing. They told a tired Bush, if he just kicked the can out 2 months, he’d be off the hook. They told McCain that economy would magically “return to normal” just in time for the presidential vote. They told Obama, they’d give him the same as Bush needed for his TARP, and he’d be able to use it any way he wished, and the money would appear as a BUSH DEFICIT.
Obama gets elected, gets a taste of stupidity of politics under crisis, and creates a STIMULUS PACKAGE that is 4 times the size of the TARP FUNDS that had been handed to him, that were still unspent.
Getting away with that, realizing he has a super majority in both houses of Congress, Obama spends the next year-and-a-half playing his trump cards: Cap and Trade Energy-use Regulatory Takeover, National Health Care Regulatory Takeover, and Financial Spying and Regulatory Takeover, while pumping “stimulus” funds into local governments to prevent them from making the adjustments that will allow them to weather the international recession that the “pre-elections shenanigans” had precipitated.
They got the framework into place, now they just need to let the Repubs take over just enough to gum up the works and freeze their progress, and get blamed while Obama’s big-three continue to chill the economy until 2012.
Ask yourself why such huge amounts of TARP and STIMULUS are still laying around, and ask why what has been spent so far was so ineffectual.
Then watch the lib-bugs crawl out from under rocks and mouth their mantra – “This is ALL Bush’s fault…”
“Second was the instantaneous verdict of the president, when asked about the arrest of Harvard’s Henry Louis Gates by Cambridge cop Sgt. James Crowley. With no knowledge of what happened, Obama blurted out that the cops had “acted stupidly.”
It took a White House beer summit to detoxify that one.”
Being a long time conservative, Republican voter who actually voted for Obama in 2008 because I could not stomach McCain (much less Palin), I have a somewha different take on Obama’s decision to comment on the Prof. Gates-Cambridge police incident. Although it may have exacerbated racial relations in this country somewhat, I took it as less a reflection of Obama’s racial atttudes than a reflection on his basic competence.
I was watching Obama’s press conference last July 20 when Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times, Obama’s hometown newspaper, asked out of the blue the final question of the evening dealing with the Prof Gates affair (after the previous nine questions all dealt with healthcare). After hearing Obama state first that Prof. Gates was a personal friend of his and then that he was not familiar with all the facts in the case, I was utterly dumbfounded to hear Obama then proceed to render his opinion on the case and pronounce his verdict that the police “had acted stupidly.” Being familiar with the law, I was shocked that someone who was a lawyer (not to mention President of the Harvard Law Review), not to mention “professor” of Constitutional law at Chicago Law School, would make a mistake that any competent recent graduate of any decent law school would know not to make. If anyone has any doubts, pose the following test to any competent lawyer friend: (1) X is a personal friend of mine, (2) I am not familiar with the facts of X’s case, and (3) [fill in the blank].
In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Prof. Charles Ogletree, the black professor at Harvard Law and teacher of both Obama and his wife Michelle and lawyer for Prof. Gates, recently state on Talk of the Nation on NPR agreeing with me that the natural thing for Obama to have said at that press conference after stating that Gates was a friend and he didn’t know all the facts was “no comment.” http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128010100 (between the 8:30 minute and 12 minute marks of the audio tape). Since that was my initial reaction upon hearing Obama’s response, I couldn’t understand why the MSM generally overlooked Obama’s blatant error and focused on racial profiling instead. Incidentally, Ogletree does think that Obama’s press conference response did unnecessarily contribute to exacerbation of race relations in the U.S.
That incident lead me to seriously doubt Obama’s basic competence, but I had already begun to have reservations about his executive skills based on his obvious desire to do anything at once (unlike the Reagan model of focusing on accomplishing a few objectives) and his early decision to send more troops to Aghanistan without holding a serious policy review such as he susequently held in the fall (decide first, ponder later).
BTW am I the only person who thought Lynn Sweet’s question about the Gates affair was planted by or coordinated with the White House? Apart from the fact that it was the last question asked by a hometown reporter at a press conference otherwise devoted entirely to healthcare, Obama’s answer seemed well-prepared (if not exactly well thought through). I saw no reports in the MSM even raising the issue, but, if my cynical suspicions are correct, that makes Obama’s incompetence even more astounding. It’s one thing to have answered the question off-the-cuff, but, if the answer was prepared in advance, you really have to question the competence of Obama and his team.
The Left has racial double standards wherein everyone except Whites is encouraged organize racially, but when Whites do so, they’re branded as racists.
The tea partiers have gone way out of their way to downplay and repudiate any hint of racism, yet even they are condemned by left-liberalism and the mainstream media as racist simply because of their mostly White activist base.
The liberal media as represented by the Journolist were recently “busted” for collectively plotting to use the “racist” card to advance their own political interests. On that liberal media listserv, Spencer Abraham wrote in April of 2008: “If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”
http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/20/conservatives-karl-rove-and-fred-barnes-respond-to-journolist-racist-post/#ixzz0ud2QIupi
It’s quite obvious that it is primarily the Left stirring racial hostilities in this country for political purposes, and that it really isn’t interested at all in a “post racial” America where everyone is judged by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin. Instead, it pursues affirmative action and racial set asides, and tars anyone who says that that’s not the proper way to work towards a race blind society as “racists.”
This is pure selfishness, power madness, and despicable cynicism, additionally motivated by a desire by the Left to plunder the country and its taxpayers, and put America in a totalitarian straight jacket.
There isn’t an iota of good will in these people, and they have long since disqualified themselves from getting the benefit of any doubt.
The party that is really concentrating on race is the Republicans with their be afraid of everyone and thing with a dusky hew. Their an embarrassment to the 21st Century. All they can offer is more Rovian neo conservatism. It didn’t work for Bush. And Yes all this situation is his fault purely and simply. It took him 8 years to wreck the US and it takes more than 2 years to fix it all. As I said above… put your ideas for fixing the current situation down below. Bitching about how hard white ppl have it compared to black ( laughable just fkn laughable) doesn’t fix anything. Have any real ideas or just more Fox talking points. Ask yourselves are the current crop of repubs really conservative. Their newest remit … a greenlight for Israel to attack Iran. Third war anyone? I wonder what the blowback from that’ll be? Is that a conservative thing to do or just plain reckless?
Why would anyone vote for these guys?
Yeah, it’s not like 18 year old whites and asians need higher SAT scores than blacks to get into Ivy league schools or anything because of state sanctioned racism. To pick just one of a dozen examples. Why it’s just laughable, the very idea of anti-white racism!
And it’s ‘they’re’ not ‘their’ who’s an embarrassment. At least learn some spelling and basic grammar if we have to read your whiny left-wing rants on every Buchanan column. “….with their be afraid of everyone and thing with a dusky hew.” Huh? Think you mean hue, genius. Just reading you is putting a “dusky hew” over the cognitive abilities of my brain cells.
the south will rise again.
@Ian “The party that is really concentrating on race is the Republicans…”
We’re sure you meant Republicans, and Tea Partiers, and Conservatives, and anyone you disagree with.
This is why the “Journolist” story is so important. The Mainstream Media “Journalists” had prearranged to accuse Republicans of racism to help Obama, and were trying to help the Democrats long term by burying Palin, using purposely-invented stories, among other things, about her kids.
I once attempted to point this out to Daniel McCarthy, but he misinterpreted me and thought I was accusing HIM specifically, and I used the “Rahm Emanuel style opportunity” to make my points, as back then TAC was deleting 90% of my comments.
Forgot to tack this on to my previous comment:
http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/26/raw-journolist-emails-on-palins-downs-child/
The Journolist “scandal” is again laughable. One of the Daily Callers own writers was a member. It was set up by Ezra Klein from the Wa Po hardly the seat of liberalism. some of their columnists would be extreme for Haaretz.
You may as well accuse this website of the same with ppl posting in whatever they want. Shock …conservative site has posts from members !
Whining about race isn’t going to solve anything. there are excellent columns on Big Government , the wars of Occupation, How best to combat our enemies Foreign trade/relations, occasionally immigration, why football sucks and the like. They barely get a response and yet these are exactly the sort of issues which are really costing us. (except football)
Instead Pat’s cheap dog whistle posts get such a huge response of petty bickering. No white guy ever got a supervisors job in my uncles old factory , working class white kids find it harder to get to harvard yadayada. How about the imprisonment rate for Black males and..can they vote after? get a job after? Yeah they’re livin it large alright. Probably writing their harvard acceptance speech as we read.
His ( Pat’s) other columns are great for the most part. Our issues are F all to do with race. Demand some answers on stuff that really matters.Stop whining you sound petty and silly. Want to talk about racism? Beat slavery. Beat segregation.
ian, help me to understand your logic. Slavery ended over one hundred years ago and not one living person on this planet had anything to do with it. That is, if we’re talking about the enslavement of Africans in America specifically by whites despite the fact that there is a long history of whites being enslaved and plenty of evidence of blacks owning slaves after their own emancipation. So, this has nothing to do with life in 2010 and therefore we can move on to the next point of segregation which existed in the south and ended before today’s middle aged voters were born. What does that mean to a middle aged man born and raised in the northern united states whose parents and grandparents were also white folks from the north who had nothing to do with injustices imposed upon black folks and still has to be punished for the sins of others that have absolutely no relation to him but the color of their skin. Let me tell you about how much fun it is to be that guy and how much fun it is to be denied simple assistance such as food stamps or educational benefits because I am white. Let me tell you about how racist I am for being unhappy about the fact that despite never having provoked an attack in my life, the only times I’ve ever been assaulted have been by black men. Let me tell you about the black ex-cons I’ve met that have gotten a free ride from the state to go to school or get vocational rehabilitation while I scraped by with whatever work I could find. Of course, I am petty and silly and part of a great conspiracy that forces black men to commit crime while I reap the privilege of being white in a largely non-white community that seems to believe I am secretly rich and here to take the house they own while I rent a tiny apartment and ride the bus while they drive brand new cars with impressive stereo systems. Now let me get back to searching for one of those jobs that I don’t deserve because I am white and therefore whiny and privileged. Please let me into your world, it seems to be a much better place.
The elements of black culture that are closely associated
with slavery and deprivation have been generally rejected
by most black people and widely rejected by Americans
of European ancestry. Blacks who wish to hold on to that
plantation culture really ought to return to the deep rural South,
where they can have their fill of it.
The truth about whites is that they have been putting up with the
blacks, expecting that the blacks might come around. In fact,
the majority of black people have come around to living a
peaceful, ordered, life. Communists always agitate unrest and
open with a play on the tendency for self pity.
