Rand Paul Leads


He’s up 42 to 27 percent over Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the race for the Bluegrass State’s GOP Senate nomination, Jim Antle reports. In the Democratic race, Lieutenant Governor Dan Mongiardo has an equally commanding lead over Attorney General Jack Conway, 45 to 27 percent, according to SurveyUSA.

It’s simply a fact that any Old Right libertarian conservatives who managed to get elected to the Senate would really shake up the neocon death grip on the conservative movement a lot more than any House member can do, even Ron Paul. Senators are just that much more high profile than representatives are, and with their single-hold abilities can wreak more havoc in a good way. With Rand Paul and Hostetler in Indiana, there are two distinct possibilities in 2010. You know the establishment cons are worried, as Kristol has gone out of his way to whine about Sarah Palin endorsing Rand Paul, while the WSJ’s Dorothy Rabinowitz has been her usual classless self in taking cheap shots as well. Way to signal your anxieties, neocons!
