Soldiers have to get on-side with this. Not only realizing it is a real problem but developing the understanding that they could be the best link with those of their Brothers who suffer from it.

After that, time and real concern are needed. Some cases will take a lot, for a long time. Others will be more like Captain Wade's example and respond to care and understanding in fairly short order.

The underlying premise must be that every returning vet 'deserves' to be restored to optimal health.

Chris referred to sending soldiers to kill and be killed. I would imagine that the training processes, used to turn a human being into a 'fighting machine', might be more at the root of the problem. Tearing the individual down to rebuild him as a member of the military only works if the end product has real validity and worth. That's questionable to-day as the military has been co-opted into some weird study in corporate management - death and destruction is a by-product, but the real objective is applied power, both outside and inside the organization.

Plowman Wade, you didn't list any way to contact you. But I'm going to guess the nine words are from the Bible, and probably contains the word "Jesus." Am I close?

So--- here we see instant relief from ptsd. It's not valid however, nor, could I pass the vetting process having no degree in phy. or a clinical certification or back ground. Yet David and others like him are set free this day, and none of them ask me afterwards, for my credentials, they just wept and hugged me hard.

I'm only posting this to encourage you who care, that there is a solution and cure for ptsd. I'll be glad to explain to any one who contacts me.

Hi Shooter,

Ya know those nine words are held close to the heart because they are connected to the power of attorney given to very few people. Id be more than happy however to share them with you in private any time.

The <a href="http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/" rel="nofollow">Wounded Warrior Project</a> and the <a href="http://www.yellowribbonfund.org/" rel="nofollow">Yellow Ribbon Fund</a> are two worthy groups.

Wade, what were those nine words?

There is a solution for PTSD.

Approx four years ago,
I knocked on the trailer door of a former Navy crew chief/door gunner supporting SEAL operations in Viet. He crashed upside down in a rice patty that stove up his neck and back that was treated for almost forty years with drugs, both pain killers and anti-depression types. He turned to hard drinking and additional un- prescribed drugs. His wife divorced him and his children no longer considered him as their father. He was in a small 28-foot trailer parked in a small RV park at the foot of Palormar Mountain SD. county Ca. He was a cronic case.
He had determined to kill himself in two days having selectd the shot gun and the location.

Upon knocking on his door, I said nine words to his face without introducing myself, or any small talk. Instantly the disire to kill himself went away. Today he is living a normal productive life and his children are spending time with him again and marval at his recovery. I call David weekly and have driven to Camp Verde Ariz. where he now lives a number of times to see him.

I too had what the world calls PTSD, so if you havent suffered this assault upon your soul, you comments on this event are mear speculations regardless of your academic credientials!

I will be glad to discuss this outcome with all who care.

My son is at Lejeune, and conditions are as described but worse. Meanwhile the flagwavers and neocons post platitudes on 11-11, but show no interest in being informed about this issue or doing anything about it. Pathetic and hypocritical.

Amen. If only the American people actually knew about the Bush Administration's atomization of the Army family, barely held together with bonuses and anti-depressants. Some intrepid journalist should research the mental health disasters of the selfless dependent family members of those deployed.
