  1. My favorite part is the host in the bright red track suit. Does he have a knock-off versace shirt on underneath or no shirt at all? What a fascinating place!

  2. I suppose a lot of our military-based American humor looks roughly this arrogant to the countries that see the business end of our military.

  3. The audience’s reaction is rather enigmatic. Are they so happy because they love the idea of turning off the gas to the rest of the world, or are they laughing at the absurd blackmail that gasprom has has been practicing, like an American audience might have laughed at Tom Lehrers song about the atom bomb.

  4. It is nice of them wanting to help the Europeans deal with global warming.

  5. [...] Now it’s not clear, whether they’re laughing at those dupes in the rest of Europe, or whether the performance itself is making fun of Russian policy. It does seem to have a certain “Springtime for Hitler” quality to it, which makes us surmise that the joke is on Putin. Still, we found it highly amusing (via AmCon) [...]

  6. Russians indeed stand no chance in a wit competition with Americans, especially after the latter have elected Barack H. Obama as their president.
