TAC Seeks an Intern
The summer internship season is upon us, and The American Conservative is in the market. We’re looking for a young person whose commitment to the cause of peace and traditional conservatism is great enough that he or she will work long hours for little pay. Duties include administrative work (answering phones, correspondence, etc.) and editorial responsibilities (proofreading, participating in editorial meetings, some writing and blogging). Hours are 9 am to 6 pm every weekday, except holidays. There’s a very modest stipend. The position is available immediately; applicants should expect to work until some time in August.
If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please send a cover letter, resume, and writing samples to Daniel McCarthy at TACintern@gmail.com.

So I assume this is an internship in D.C.? No housing, little pay, all summer long?
Wait. Does this mean that TAC will survive despite the ominous note in the last magazine? If so, a happy day.
KMD: Exactly so — TAC isn’t going away. We’ll have more comprehensive word on how everything stands soon.
Brent: Yes, it’s in Washington and would run more or less through the summer. (Exact start and end dates are negotiable.) The stipend is modest but sufficient (even in this area) for housing. More than sufficient if you find affordable lodging: area universities, for example, rent out their dorms during the summer.
Too bad it’s for a youth. This 61 year old retiree would be delighted to serve.
Yeah really… I wish the devil I was a bit younger. As this 36 year old would love to write for you guys.
I just wish I had the stinking extra cash to subscribe to the print magazine.
God Bless You guys… I mean that.
