This apparently is no April Fools joke, even if it looks like one.
The Finland Station is a railway station, not subway, hence not on metro maps. It was at this station the great usurpator returned from hiding out in Finland, and gave an inspired speech to his supporters, to re-ignite his bid for power.
If it really isn’t one, then it is even cooler. I’m no supporter of vandalism, but blowing the hind end off of a statue of Lenin on April Fool’s day is pretty incredible.
They had to know it would invite skepticism when it was reported on, too. These pranksters are amazing.
It’s not definite given the image but it appears that the detonation blew outward. It’s hard to imagine how they got the device inside the statue, unless it was just inside the overhanging coattail.
Ninety-two years too late.
Cheers,

The giveaway here is the “Finland Station.”
Happy April Fools!
I couldn’t resist hijacking this image as a safety tip on my blog. http://www.OdysseusontheRocks@blogspot.com How fortuitous.
Has anyone claimed credit? Perhaps this is the dawn of the age of “public service vandalism?”

And yes, it is indeed 92 years too late.
