VE RI TAS

Harvard Man, Ross Douthat is the latest hire for The New York Times. Naturally his biggest fan, Robert Stacy McCain is celebrating:

(Gritted teeth.) Congratulation, Ross! We’re all so excited for you!

Now excuse me while I go swallow a bottle of sleeping pills, wash it down with a quart of Chlorox, slash my wrists, get in the car, drive to the Bay Bridge, shoot myself through the head, and crash through the guard-rail to the water below.

  1. At least its not David Frum, who would have been Kristol on steroids. I almost threw up when I saw he had the “conservative case against Rush” on the cover of Newsweek. They f—ing deserve each other!

  2. A childish and unpleasant post, unworthy of TAC. I read this blog precisely so that I don’t have to get bogged in the pettinesses of the Robert Stacy McCains of this world.

I do, however, like McCain’s use of “”Congratulation,” last heard coming from the moustached lips of Borat Sagdiyev.

  3. I agree with Felix. Robert Stacy McCain and his boorish “real men don’t eat quiche” Morton Downey Jr-style pseudo-conservatism now pollutes the good pages of Takimag. This braying jackass is a print version of the overbearing establishment water-carriers on “conservative” talk radio, whom he worships. Please let TAC remain a sanctuary from his brand of loutish philistinism.

  4. I’m fairly sure Clark Stooksbury and RSM are not on good terms; I doubt this post was meant to make RSM look favorable.

  5. Slow, you were on the uptake there. It is to be assured that Clark was allowing McCain to “open his mouth and be proved . . .”
