The truth will come out. Reid is toast. We only have to put up with him until 2010 when he loses reelection. Who will be the new senate majority leader?

When I opened my newspaper this morning, I did not find any analysis so well-reasoned as Buchanan's.

Instead, I saw Clarence Page, a black "progressive" from the Obama wing of the movement insisting that this "isn't about Burris, it's about Blagojevich". Reid was not mentioned, but Rush was vilified for appearing with Blagojevich, which is silly considering that no charge against the governor has yet been proven in a court of law.

One thing is clear, the party line on the left is stronger than the color line, which is dissapointing. If the media and the black establishment were aggressive and consistent, Reid would be run out of leadership on a rail.

Pat probably cares, as all of us should, because the rule of law dictates that Burris take his Senate seat as legally appointed by a legally-elected governor, investigations against him notwithstanding. As I understand it, though Blago might be a cretin, his appointment of Burris is still perfectly legal and should be honored.

Pat just has politics in his blood. I cannot imagine any other reason why he would care who the corrupt political system of Illinois puts up for the Senate.
