There are some good points here, but there's also more than one dictionary burner, where words are used in ridiculous inversions. The police bureaucrats... Hoover and Felt... who spied on King and Lennon and the weathermen... are part of the liberal establishment? OK. Now if they were corrupt, and Nixon was corrupt, then how could he not be one of them? Seems to me it was a Coke-Pepsi issue, about market share, and who got the money... infighting among thieves, and 'twas ever thus. Watergate, the Huston plan... law and order? Puh-leeez.

Another giant slain by PJB. History needs second opinions to avoid becoming myth, and the myth of Felt's selfless and courageous contribution to an open society deserves to be challenged. Nixon is never going to come out smelling like roses, but there's no reason to elevate his foes.

I love Pa, and, although I do not agree with everything he says, everything he says is always provocative. This is an interesting take on Felt that I haven't heard from anywhere else, even though one can tell that he served in the Nixon White House and was loyal to the man. But still very very interesting.
