There are a lot of people who would rather fail than face unpleasant theories, or even unpleasant people. Unfortunately, these people tend to rise to leadership positions. I expect the Larry Summers nomination, if it happens, to be the exception rather than the rule. There are a lot of people who would rather fail than face unpleasant theories, or even unpleasant people. Unfortunately, these people tend to rise to leadership positions.
